68.5 World Peace Keeping Operations
Whereas:
- The United Nations has recognized the need for a permanent Peace Keeping Force.
- Establishing one permanent Peace Keeping Force would:
- Prevent the overlapping of forces and weapons.
- Greatly reduce costs and the fear between nations.
- Allow for quick response to troubled zones.
- The existing special Committee of the United Nations for Peace Keeping has terms of reference that fall short of the broader goal suggested by the Secretary General.
Resolved: The National Council of Women of Canada commends the Government of Canada for supporting the United Nations Peace Keeping Forces and urges the Government to continue advocating for a comprehensive program of Peace Keeping Operations in the United Nations.
