86.11EM Emergency Resolution: Women in Conflict with the Law
Whereas:
- The Federal Cabinet allocated $2.1 million for the "Women in Conflict with the Law" initiative in 1984.
- Only $1.5 million of this amount has been committed to date.
- There remains a significant need for programs and services to support women in conflict with the law across the country.
- Many viable projects designed to assist women in conflict with the law or women at risk cannot be funded due to insufficient allocated funds.
Resolved:
The National Council of Women of Canada requests the Government of Canada to provide additional funding of no less than $600,000 for the "Women in Conflict with the Law" initiative for the period of 1986-88.
