70.1 Central Information and Referral Services
Whereas, The public is entitled to have ready access to information with respect to the services offered by all levels of government; and,
Whereas, Such information can be provided most efficiently and effectively at the local level and under a coordinated authority; and,
Whereas, A coordinating Central Information Service in a community leads to efficient and economical procuring of services to those in need of them; therefore:
RESOLVED, That the National Council of Women of Canada request the Government of Canada to participate in and give financial support to Central Information and Referral Services administered locally under the joint auspices of the municipal, provincial and federal governments and Para-public and private non-profit agencies.
