67.9 Rehabilitation of Children who are Victims of War, and Training of Personnel
Whereas, Hospital facilities for the care of disabled, wounded, and badly burned children in areas of war are overcrowded and understaffed;
and,
Whereas, Holland, Britain, Switzerland, France, and Italy have brought sick and wounded children to their countries for long-term medical and surgical treatment;
and,
Whereas, There is generally a great scarcity of trained personnel in areas of war for the care of, and the rehabilitation of, children;
therefore,
RESOLVED, That the National Council of Women of Canada urge the Government of Canada to bring to this country a number of these children for treatment in those Canadian hospitals which indicate a desire to receive them;
and,
RESOLVED, That the National Council of Women of Canada urge the Government of Canada to bring to this country personnel from countries at war to be trained in the therapy and rehabilitation of children in Canadian hospitals and to return them to their own country to carry on this work.
