Mica B. Daurie
Mica B. Daurie (she/her) is a 2SLGBTQIA+ advocate and thought leader with extensive experience in government, legal, and corporate services, as well as event planning and EDIA (equity, diversity, inclusion, anti-racism, and accessibility) initiatives. She has held roles such as Court Administrator, City Hall Legislative Support, and Board of Inquiry Administrator for the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission, breaking barriers as the first openly trans woman in several of these positions.
Mica is the first openly transgender woman to serve as Vice President of the National Council of Women Canada, focusing on Health and Housing, and is an upcoming TEDxArgyle 2025 speaker. Raised in K'jipuktuk, Mi’kma’ki, she brings lived experience to her work, fostering accessible, inclusive, and culturally competent spaces. Mica is trained in Gender-Based Analysis+, Restorative Practices, Trauma-Informed Care, and French at Université Sainte-Anne.
