75.11 The Control of the Use of Firearms
Whereas,
High-powered Rifles and Shotguns are easily available;
Whereas,
The wrongful use of such guns has increased the hazard to the public;
Whereas,
The federal statute regulates only the sale and possession of handguns; and,
Whereas,
Ways and means of insuring protection of the public with regard to firearms, such as justification for ownership, registration and compulsory training in the handling of firearms, are at present inadequate; therefore,
RESOLVED,
That the National Council of Women of Canada request the Government of Canada to enact and enforce laws and regulations regarding the possession, sale and control of all types of firearms and ammunition.
