96.2 Safeguarding Canada’s Arctic Sovereignty Through Self-Surveillance
Whereas, There is a growing concern that Canadian Arctic water sovereignty is becoming more difficult to assert; and,
Whereas, Self-surveillance could be carried out through the installation of a subsurface acoustic detection system which
would monitor strategic points in the Canadian Archipelago as well as subsurface activity in the Arctic Basin;
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That The National Council of Women of Canada urge the Government of Canada to adopt a policy of self-surveillance
in Canadian Arctic Waters.
