SIDELINED: The Colour of the Game – Anti-Racism in Sport Film Screening
SIDELINED: The Colour of the Game
Anti-Racism in Sport Film Screening
Sport has the power to bring people together, build confidence, and strengthen communities. Yet for many First Nations, Métis, Inuit, Black, Racialized, and Religious Minority participants, experiences of racism, exclusion, and discrimination continue to shape their journey in sport.
Join the National Council of Women of Canada (NCWC) for a special screening of SIDELINED: The Colour of the Game, a Canadian documentary that explores the realities of racism in sport through the voices and lived experiences of athletes, coaches, parents, officials, and community leaders from across the country.
Facilitated by Daria Jorquera Palmer
Following the screening, participants will engage in a facilitated discussion led by Daria Jorquera Palmer, Co-Director of the film and Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships Manager with Anti-Racism in Sport Canada (ARISC). The conversation will explore systemic barriers, belonging, allyship, representation, and practical actions that can help create more equitable and inclusive communities.
